Bimeda US Launches MoxiSolvTM Injection (moxidectin) in a Plastic Bottle

Schaumburg, Illinois – Bimeda is excited to announce the expansion of its anti-parasitic portfolio with the introduction of MoxiSolv Injection (moxidectin). MoxiSolv stands out as the only FDA-approved, bioequivalent alternative to Cydectin® Injectable (moxidectin) by Elanco®, that is available in a convenient, non-shattering 500 mL plastic bottle.

MoxiSolv is a ready-to-use injectable parasiticide that contains 1% moxidectin. It is approved for use in beef and non-lactating dairy cattle for the treatment and control of gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, cattle grubs, mites, and lice. Notably, moxidectin injection has a short, 21-day pre-slaughter withdrawal period, compared to the 35-day withdrawal period required for injectable avermectin products (ivermectin, doramectin).

A unique benefit of moxidectin is that it is dung beetle friendly. Healthy dung beetle populations play a crucial role in maintaining soil health in pastures and assist producers in controlling internal and external parasites. By dispersing manure, dung beetles reduce breeding environments for horn flies and limit further exposure to gastrointestinal nematodes.

"We at Bimeda are excited to offer yet another product to our broad line of anti-parasiticals. Not only is MoxiSolv effective against profit-robbing parasites in cattle, but it is also friendly to dung beetles, which are especially important to the overall health of the ecosystem." said Dr. Dave Ellefson, Senior Director, Technical Services North America, Bimeda.
